Men’s Tennis Gets Seventh Straight Win In The Rain

The Bucs get their 26th straight win against Eckerd

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. --  The second-ranked Barry Buccaneers continued their regular season with their a win of the season against the 43rd-ranked Eckerd Tritons on Saturday evening at the Buccaneer Tennis Center, winning 4-0. After rain delayed most of the game after the doubles match, the teams decided to play until one team clinches victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Buccaneers secured victories each of their doubles matches with a notable win 7-5 coming from the #27 ranked duo of Tim Riedel and Gabriele Felline in their match in court #2 against Marshall Hulett and Adrian Gheorghe.
  • Simone Cavelleri controlled his match against Eric Asakura in Court #3 winning early 6-3, before dropping the hammer in a 6-0 shutout to win the set.
  • Hayze Loop stayed strong in a tough match against Marshall Hewitt in the fourth court with his teammates cheering him on, he was able to dominate and defeat his opponent in a 6-3, 6-1 sweep to clinch the game for the Bucs.
  • Singles #1, #5, and #6 were left unfinished, both teams decided to play until one side clinches, the weather factored into this decision.

ON THE HORIZON

The Bucs will play at home against Rollins on March 30, the match begins at 2 pm at the Buccaneer Tennis Center.
