Back On Track, Softball Sweeps Twin Bill Against Tritons

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – On a night where Sofia Chamorro was celebrated for her time thus far as a Buccaneer, she helped guide the Barry Softball team to a pair of wins in Sunshine State Conference action. The Saturday double-header got the Bucs back in league play and in the win column.

INSIDE THE MATCHUPS:
Final: #24 Barry 3, Eckerd 2 ; (Game Two) #24 Barry 8, Eckerd 1
Records: Barry (25-12, 10-4 SSC), Eckerd (19-13, 7-7 SSC)
All-Time Series: Barry leads 106-20

HOW IT HAPPENED (Game One):
  • B1 | Harper Bunn started the game off with an infield single that bounced over the second baseman. Sarah Langlie had an infield single to put two aboard. Sofia Chamarro delivered the two-out RBI-single on her special day to give Barry the 1-0 lead. | Barry 1, Eckerd 0
  • T4 | The inning started with a leadoff home run to tie things up. A double and single followed behind and brought home another run for the Tritons to take the lead. | Eckerd 2, Barry 1
  • B5 | Back to back singles from Paige White and Brooklyn Rushton had Barry ready for a big inning. Mya Tucker had a sacrifice bunt to move them over into scoring position. Bunn then drew the walk to load the bases. The best two-out hitter with runners in scoring position, Sarah Langlie, was due at the plate and executed to perfection. A base hit to left center brought in two for the Bucs to regain the lead and hold it through. | Barry 3, Eckerd 2
