MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – In the final midweek of non-conference action for Barry, the Buccaneers split their softball doubleheader against Flagler College on Wednesday afternoon from Buccaneer Field. Barry won game one 6-2 and fell in game two 4-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED (Game One):
- B1 | After a 1-2-3 frame in the top half, Barry got to work in the bottom of the first. Harper Bunn led off the game with a four-pitch walk. Sarah Langlie and Caroline Figueroa reached consecutively after being hit by pitches from Saints starter Alyssa Hunter (10-2). This loaded the bases for Sofia Chamorro who battled eight pitches to walk in the first run of the game. Then, a Mac Stone-Folmar ground out but brought in another run. Barry scored the two runs without recording a hit in the inning. | Barry 2, Flagler 0
- B2 | Paige White started the inning with a leadoff walk for the fourth free pass of the game. Langlie delivered when she knows best, with two outs, a single to left center that brought home Mya Tucker for an insurance run. | Barry 3, Flagler 0
- B4 | Caroline Figueroa put the final stamp on the game with a two-out three run shot to left field, her fourth home run of the season, ninth of her career. | Barry 6, Flagler 0
- T6 | Flagler put up their first runs of the day in the top of the sixth. Three straight singles gave them their first run, a Buccaneer error gave them their second. Samantha Rosenberger ended the threat with two ground outs.| Barry 6, Flagler 2
NOTEWORTHY (Game One):
- Barry has outscored opponents 58-26 in the first innings, doing the most damage in the this inning.
- The Bucs improve to 16-3 when scoring in the first inning, 20-2 when scoring first.
- Barry was outhit 8-7 in the game and both teams stranded seven base runners.
- Langlie went 2-for-2 in the game, collecting her sixth career multi-hit game. She also drew a walk, scored twice, and brought in a run.
- Half of the run brought in from the Bucs are with two-outs (90 out of 183). Langlie and Figueroa lead with 18 each.
- Rosenberger collected her fifth with of the year to reach above .500 again at 5-4. She threw six innings, allowed just six hits, one earned run, picked up a strike out and did not allow a free pass.
- Isabel Vera came in and shut down the seventh facing five batters and stranding two runners on the base path.
HOW IT HAPPENED (Game Two):
- T5 | In a similar situation from the earlier game, Flagler scored their first two runs in one play without a batted ball. An intentional walk led to a wild pitch that scored the runner on third. Then, the runner on second, who advanced to third on the same pitch, came home in an in-play first and third situation. The Saints took their first lead of the day and never looked back. | Barry 0, Flagler 2
- T6 | Two more runs were tacted on in the top of the sixth for Flagler. A lead off walk came around to score wth back-to-back singles driving in both. An errant throw helped the cause in one play. | Barry 0, Flagler 4
NOTEWORTHY (Game Two):
- This is Barry's third time being shut out this season, second in the last four games.
- The Bucs are now 3-10 when the opponent scores first and 0-16 when trailing after the fifth inning.
- The offense does most of their damage in the first four innings outscoring opponents 150-73, but fall 53-59 from the fifth on.
- Both teams struggled to get the timely hit in the early innings. The Saints stranded nine runners, while Barry stranded seven. Both left the bases loaded in the fourth.
- Barry had four runner caught stealing the base path and three runners cut down to advance on a base hit.
- Langlie once again picked up a multi-hit game, going 2-for-3 for her seventh.
ON THE HORIZON
The Bucs will return and stay with Sunshine State Conference action, welcoming Eckerd at home over the weekend. The double-header will be played Saturday with the single game wrapping up on Sunday
