VALDOSTA, Ga.--  The top-ranked Barry Buccaneers returned to regular season play with a victory against the Valdosta State Blazers on Saturday morning at the VSU Tennis Complex.

  • #1 Alina Michalitsch, #19 Angela Leweurs, and #28 Viktoriia Dema dominated their matches with straight-set sweeps. Michalitsch faced the toughest challenge but prevailed 6-2, 7-5. Leweurs cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 win, while Dema closed out her match 6-3, 6-2.
  • Dinara Alloiarova controlled her match with ease, securing a 6-2, 6-0 victory.
  • Freshman Louane Lutringer delivered the match of the day, battling Olivia Pezo in a tightly contested Singles #3 showdown before sealing the win with a 10-5 final set.
  • Ailen Crespo dominated from start to finish, shutting out her opponent with a flawless 6-0, 6-0 performance.

ON THE HORIZON

The Bucs are staying in Valdosta, Ga. to face off against the #2 NAIA ranked team Georgia Gwinnett on March 2, the match begins at 10 am at the VSU Tennis Courts.
