MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers were swept in their Sunshine State Conference baseball series with the Embry-Riddle Eagles, losing 12-6 and 12-5 in the doubleheader at Feinbloom Field on Saturday.

NOTEWORTHY:

  • Greg Bruno (1-0) worked five innings in the opener, allowing an unearned run on two hits and three walks to get the win for the Eagles.
  • Tristan Hartley was perfect through three innings, but could not get out of the fifth. Kegan Perez (2-0) went 3.2 innings in relief to get the win in game two. He allowed two runs on two hits.
  • Barry starters Valle-Jhanda and Mason Blocker (0-2) took the losses for the Bucs. 
  • Kops led the Eagles at the plate, going 6-for-10, with a double, two homers, four runs and eight RBI.
  • The Eagle catchers Alex Imposimato and Post combined to go 8-for-9 in the twin bill, driving in four.
  •  Hatfield and Delgado each had two hits in the doubleheader for Barry.

ON THE HORIZON:

The Bucs hit the road for the first time this season, visiting Palm Beach Atlantic in a non-conference game on Tuesday, Feb. 25.
