INDIANAPOLIS, In.-- The first-ranked Barry Buccaneers traveled to Indianapolis, Ind., for the ITA Indoor Championships. They had a first-round match victory against the home team, winning 4-0 against the UIndy Greyhounds in women's tennis action at the UIndy Tennis Center on Friday afternoon. Uindy had an incomplete lineup today, and forfeited the #3 doubles match and the #6 singles match.

- The Buccaneers cruised to an easy 6-2 win at #1 doubles, as Viktoriia Dema and Maria Tatarnikova beat Liyna Chen and Suryanshi of the Greyhounds.
- #28 Viktoriia Dema and #19 Angela Leweurs won their matches in straight set sweeps.
- Dema wdefeated Silvia Zappoli 6-1, 6-1 while Leweurs closed out the match 6-1, 6-0 over Suryanshi.
- Ailen Crespo picked up the point at #6 by default.
- The rest of the matches went unfinished, though the BUcs led big in two of the three.
ON THE HORIZON
The Bucs will continue the ITA Championships playing conference rival Embry-Riddle, who defeated Wingate 4-2, tomorrow Saturday, Feb 22 at 5:30 pm.
