OCALA, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers get the opportunity to taste gold at the SSC championship this week, they will be competing along with other rival schools such as Nova Southeastern, The University of Tampa, Lynn University, Florida Southern, Florida Institute of Technology, and Rollins.

The Barry Buccaneers had a quiet day at the pool, there were some standout performances such as Diana Suprun finishing in the top six in the 100 Breaststroke and setting a new school record. Jacopo Lanzo had good afternoon by racing a 4:30.44 time, he was able to set a new school record and achieve qualifications for the Championships next month. Louis Ainley and Balazs Ament set great times in the 100 Breaststroke but were unable to crack the top eight. Both A-relay teams were however able to finish with the top six, overall the day was productive with many athletes breaking new records in the young program.

Qualifiers

• The Buccaneers would have four athletes qualify for the NCAA Division II Championship races, the only woman to qualify today was Diana Suprun with her repeat strong performance, she raced a 1:02.21 time in the women's 100 Breaststroke not only qualifying her but breaking her own previous record. Jacopo Lanzo with his 4:30.44 time in the 500 Freestyle, this not only qualifies Jacopo but it also sets a new school record in the event. Louis Ainley and Balazs Ament would both qualify for the Championships, additionally they both set records for the school in the 100 Breast with time's of 54.57 and 55.01 in the event.

      • Roland Nagy: 48.74 (9th Place, 9 Points)
