Men's Basketball Drops Season Series to Sharks

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers fell to the Nova Southeastern Sharks 103-63 in Sunshine State Conference men's basketball action at the Health & Sports Center on Saturday.

SUMMARY:

  • 1H - Adren Roberts scored the first bucket of the game to give the Buccaneers a 2-0 lead. The Bucs and Sharks then traded baskets, with Sami Elkamel and Jimel Lane helping the Bucs take a 10-9 lead. From there, it was all Sharks, as they mounted multiple double-digit runs to build a 41-point halftime lead.   • 2H - Lane scored seven of the Bucs' first nine points as he attempted to help his team produce an improbable comeback. However, the Bucs were never able to put together a meaningful run, as they trailed by more than 35 for the entirety of the second period. That said, Reggie Reinhardt led a mini-run late in the game as he scored eight consecutive Bucs' points. NOTEWORTHY:

  • Lane led the Bucs with 15 points and eight rebounds.
  • Reinhardt was the only other Bucs' player to score in double figures, as he recorded 13 points, 11 of which came in the second half
  • MJ Iraldi scored a game-high 23 points for the Sharks. He was one of five Sharks to score in double figures.
  • Alex Mangold scored 17 points, while Dallas Graziani scored 13 in the winning effort.
  • Darius Lee led the Bucs with three steals. The team finished with 12.

Barry travels up to Saint Leo on Wednesday, Feb. 5 looking for revenge for the Lions' New Year's Day win in The Shores.
