LAKELAND, Fla. — Barry Women's Volleyball starts off a tough three match stretch by reigniting their win streak. The Buccaneers traveled to Central Florida to take on Florida Southern at the Jennkins Field House on Friday evening. The tight four-set match ended in favor of Barry as they took sets one, three, and four, falling in the second set.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Set One - The first set was as expected with the back and forth battle. There were nine ties and three score changes. Florida Southern looked to be in the driver's seat late in the set at 18-15. Ivana Zujovic had the turnaround kill that sparked a six point rally. Zujovic turned around and held serve during the rally picking up an ace. Four different Bucs recorded a kill, while Frankie Good checked in and picked up a big block with Thalia Iglesias after a Mocs timeout to crush their momentum. A service error gave Barry 1-0 match lead. | Barry 25, FSC 23
- Set Two - In the second set, FSC grabbed the lead first and kept it the whole way through. Barry had more kills than the Mocs but also had five more attacking errors that would be the difference as they tied the match up at one. Six of the nine errors were blocks by Florida Southern. | FSC 23, Barry 20
- Set Three - On the flip side, Barry grabbed the first lead in the third set and held it all the way through. It was a 4-0 run that kicked this set off. Iglesias picked up a service ace while Veronika Eremeeeva had two kills in the run. That gap remained throughout the rest of the set as Barry regained the match lead. - Set Four - It returned to a balanced game in the final set as the teams traded the lead four times and had 11 ties. Valeriya Kozlova had the match point kill, and the Mocs had an attacking error that ended the match. Baarry had their best offensive set with 17 kills and swinging .279. | Barry 27, FSC 25
NOTEWORTHY:
- Valeriya Kozlova had her eighth straight double-digit kill match with 17. She added eight digs to her performance.
- Veronika Eremeeva had 16 kills, notching her 10th match with double-digits. The sophomore added four blocks as well.
- Varvara Osychenko had eight kills and 13 digs and went a perfect 18-for-18 on serve receive.
- Gaia Riedmüller continues to hold the back line with 14 hard fought digs and receiving 55 of the 81 services and making just one error.
- Thalia Iglesias predominantly held the setting role with 39 assists for a season-high. She was a dig short of a double-double at nine.
- Ivana Žujovic continues to lead the block game with five in the match and eight kills.
- This is the eighth match with double-digit kills for the team.
- It is the second 50-plus kill match for the Bucs, boh coming in four setters.
- Barry has won 11 of the last 13 matches against the Mocs.
- Statistically, the Bucs dominated the serve game with a 7-1 tilt, and led in blocks 10-7.
