MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry Men's Basketball drops a heart breaker to Tampa at home on Wednesday from the Health and Sports Center. A strong first half did not hold up in the late minutes as a three-minute shooting drought was the ultimate difference maker.

SUMMARY:
- 1H - This was the best half played by the Buccaneers this season, scoring a season-high 53 points. Barry shot 61-percent from the field going 20-33, with Michael Bradley III and Jimel Lane leading the way in double-figures. Although the half did not start out great as Tampa opened on a 8-0 half. Immediately after that run, Barry quickly had a 8-0 run of their own, tying it all up through the first and a half minutes. The Spartans went on to lead for the next seven minutes until the greatest sequence happened on Coach Cesar Odio Court. Lane started a three-play series with a put back dunk, then went down the floor and blocked a layup, and returned back on the front court to slam home the alley-oop. a 14-0 run gave Barry space building an 11-point lead over the Spartans. - 2H - The second half began with the same energy for the Bucs as they held the lead through the first 12 minutes. Tampa did not go away easily slowly cutting into the double-digit lead to regain it off a three from Bryan Williams off a Buccaneer turnover. The next five minutes was a battle with Barry trying to hold onto the lead as the Spartans continued to fight. They tied it up with 3:34 on the clock and shortly took the lead and held it throughout the remainder of the contest. | Tampa 101, Barry 96
NOTEWORTHY:
- This is only the third 50-point half for the Bucs this season.
- Lane had a team-high 21 points with nine rebounds and shooting 9-16 from the floor.
- Five Bucs were in double-digit figures with Gabe Hernandez (19), Bradley (14), Adren Roberts (13), Ga'Khari Lacount (11).
- Barry led in points in the paint (40-28).
- It is the sixth 80+ point game of the season for the Bucs.
