Men's Soccer Loses To Tars At Home

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry men's soccer team lost 2-1 to the Rollins Tars on Saturday night at Buccaneer Field in Sunshine State Conference action.

  • 39:03 - Mikkel Fodstad made it 2-0 after stealing the ball at midfield and races throough the Bucs' defense to unleash a shot from 20 yards for the goal. | Rollins 2, Barry 1
  • 61:18 - Barry finally got on the board in the 62nd minute. Juan Simoniello got the ball at the top left corner of the penalty area and tried a tricky flick to himself over defender Hayden Smethurst whose hand caught the ball. Lucas Silva stepped up and converted the penalty kick. | Rollins 2, Barry 1 

NOTEWORTHY:

  • It was a tale of two halves. The Tars dominated play in the first half, out-shooting the Bucs 6-3 and building a 2-0 lead. In the second half, Barry out-shot Rollins 10-3 and produced seven corners, though they were only able to connect once on Silva's penalty.
  • Rafael Furlani and Linus Wirth split time in goal for Barry, though neither made a save.
  • Jabari Gray made four saves for the Tars.

The Bucs next play at Palm Beach Atlantic on Wednesday, Oct. 2.
