WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — The Buccaneer Volleyball team stays hot picking up their fourth straight sweep with a three-set victory over West Liberty at the Hyatt Place Bash at the Beach hosted by Palm Beach Atlantic and Lynn. The first of three matches was played on Friday evening from the Rubin Arena on the campus of Palm Beach Atlantic.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Set One - Veronika Eremeeva becan the match with a kill that sparked a 4-0 run. The set ended with an 8-0 run from Barry as Diana Apokova held serve for seven of them and picked up two of her four service aces. | Barry 25, West Liberty 9
- Set Two - West Liberty picked up the opening point as that would be the only lead they had all match. Barry quickly flipped the script and went on 4-0 rally. The Hilltoppers never rallied more than two points in a row during the set. McKayla Theleus put the set away with a kill that put the Buccaneers up 2-0 in the match. | Barry 25, West Liberty 15
- Set Three - Barry dominated from start to finish hitting .571 in the set. The Buccaneers recorded 10 kills on 14 attempts. The point came off capitalizing on nine West Liberty errors. | Barry 25, West Liberty 8
NOTEWORTHY:
- 14 service aces ties for the seventh-most in a three-set match in program history, with the last happening coming nearly one year ago on Sept 8, 2023 against Trevecca Nazarene.
- Barry hit an impressive .508 clip, the highest this season.
- The Bucs defense has held opponents under double-digit kills in 12 straight sets.
- Apokova led attackers with 14 kills, while hitting .706, and collecting four service aces.
- Jeylen Thomas went a perfect 4-for-4 converting her attacks for kill for and adding four block assists.
- Petra Brkicic and Thalia Iglesias split the setter role with 19 and 11 assists, respectively.
- Varvara Osychenko and Gaia Riedmüller held down the back row with seven digs each.
- Osychenko was the only other Buc to reach double-digit in kills with 10.
- Akopova came in leading the nation in kills per set with 5.67.
ON THE HORIZON:
The Bucs continue play at the Hyatt Place Bash at the Beach tomorrow with a doubleheader. Match one will be against Walsh at 10 a.m. at PBA and match two will be against Cedarville at 4 p.m. at Lynn.
