LAKELAND, Fla. -- The No. 2 nationally-ranked, No. 2 seeded Barry Buccaneers women's tennis team defeated No. 4 nationally-ranked, No. 1 seeded Lynn 4-0 in the SSC tournament championship to secure their fourth-straight SSC tournament title on Sunday morning at the Beerman Family Tennis Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Bucs captured the doubles point to go up 1-0 after winning at No. 1 and 2 doubles. 
• Leweurs secured the first singles point for the Bucs to put Barry up 2-0 after winning in straight-sets at No. 5 singles over Marie. 
• Dema put the Bucs up 3-0 after making nearly equally quick work of Schieroni at No. 2 singles. 
• Alloiarova clinched the championship victory at No. 4 singles by defeating Younes. 

NOTEWORTHY

• Bucs won their fourth-consecutive SSC tournament title. 
• Bucs now have 15 SSC tournament titles, which leads all teams in the SSC, while Lynn is second with 11 tournament titles. 
• It is Barry U's 108 overall conference championship.
• Dema improves to 6-2 against nationally-ranked opponents in singles. 
• Leweurs improves to 14-1 in singles on the year. 
• None of the nine matches were repeated from the regular season match, as both teams shuffled their lineups.

ON THE HORIZON

With the win the Buccaneers clinch an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament. The regional rounds are set for May 10-11 on campus sites. Bids and seedings will be announced on Monday, May. 6.
