Tampa Can't Ketchup To Softball In 3-0 Victory

MIAMI SHORES, FLA. - Relishing in the moment with the largest crowd at Buccaneer Softball Field this season in attendance on Friday evening, the Barry University softball team jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning highlighted by a two-run home run from Caroline Figueroa while keeping visiting Tampa off the scoreboard for a 3-0 victory over the third-ranked Spartans.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
  • B1| Leading off the frame with a Brooklyn Rushton single, Barry scored the opening run off a Harper Bunn base hit before a Figueroa home run created a 3-0 lead.
NOTEWORTHY 
  • Tampa is the fourth nationally-ranked team that has lost to Barry, with the Bucs winning four games over three ranked programs at Buccaneer Softball Field.
