MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers took their Sunshine State Conference baseball series over the Eckerd Tritons with a doubleheader split at Feinbloom Field on Saturday. The Bucs won game one 6-4, but fell in the nightcap 7-4.

NOTEWORTHY:
- Frank II Gonzalez finally picked up his first win of the season in the split game in game one. He gave up two runs on five hits and two walks before reaching his pitch count.
- Federico Zapata got the final two outs to earn his fifth save of the season.
- Rene Ramos (1-5) took the loss for Eckerd in game one. He worked four innings, settling down after giving up five runs in the first on five hits. He held the Bucs to just one hit and one walk over the next three innings, striking out six.
- Gavin Grubbs improved to 6-0 on the season, despite giving up six hits and six walks in six innings. He allowed only one run and struck out two.
- Romagnola got his second save.
- Aiden Denton (3-3) was saddled with the loss as he gave up five runs in the ninth on five hits.
- Wickeri led the Bucs with five hits, including a double.
- Forchic went 3-for-6 with a double, homer, two runs and two RBI.
- Kyle Abbott, who went 5-for-5 in game two, had six hits and three RBI for Eckerd. Collier, who hit three solo homers, also drove in three.

The Bucs face the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish on Tuesday, Mar. 19 in their last non-conference home game of the season.
