MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers opened Sunshine State Conference baseball play with a 7-1 rout of the Florida Southern Moccasins at Feinbloom Field on Friday night.

- B1 - Barry got on the board first. Savi Delgado singled with one out and went to second on a wild pitch by Mocs' starter Mitchell Leroy (0-1). He scored one out later when Evan Wickeri beat out an infield hit. | Barry 1, FSC 0
- B2 - The Bucs pounded out five hits to score three runs in the second. Jimmy Bruno, Degado and Kevin Noriega had RBI singles in the frame. | Barry 4, FSC 0

NOTEWORTHY:
- Joe Morrisey (1-0) picked up his first win as a Buccaneer, and 10th career win, with seven strong innings. He held the Mocs to a run on three hits and three walks and struck out nine.
- Dominic Murgo III worked the final two scoreless innings, giving up a hit and a walk, but striking out two.
- Leroy got touched for six runs on 11 hits and three walks in five innings.
- Eight of the nine Bucs recorded hits, including two each for Rodriguez, Delgado, Toms and Maceda.
- Rodriguez had two doubles, bringing his team-leading total to seven, which also leads the conference.
- The Bucs went 7-for-16 with runners in scoring position, while Florida Southern was 0-for-5.
