Front-Paige News; Softball Opens Conference Play With 6-3 Win Against Embry-Riddle

Miami Shores, Fla. - Paige White hit the first home run by a member of the Barry University softball team at their home field this season on Friday evening, powering the Bucs to a 6-3 win over Embry-Riddle in both team's Sunshine State Conference opener.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
  • B1| Leading off with a single, Taylor Thompson scored the opening run of the day off a Caroline Figueroa sacrifice fly before a White double plated Cassandra Lee to create an early 2-0 lead.
  • T4| Getting a pair of runners on base via back-to-back singles, Embry-Riddle used a two-out double to knot the score at 2-all.
  • B6| Reaching base on a hit by pitch, Harper Bunn broke the tie off a Lee single before a three-run White home run created a 6-2 advantage.
  • T7| ERAU chipped into the deficit with a run in the top of the seventh.
NOTEWORTHY 
  • White went 2-3 with four RBI.
  • Lee rounded the bases twice.
  • Samantha Rosenberger threw the final 2.0 innings to record her second collegiate win.
  • Alexis Martin tossed 5.0 innings with two runs allowed off six hits.
  • For ERAU, Katriana Bain sent two runners home while going 1-1.
