SAINT LEO, Fla - Highlighted by career-outings by OT Delancy and Ga'Khari Lacount on Saturday afternoon, the Barry University men's basketball team won their first game of 2024 in a 98-71 triumph over Saint Leo.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• 1H | After splitting the initial 40 points of the contest with neither side holding a lead greater than three during the span, Barry scored six-straight to take a 26-20 lead with 7:57 remaining in the half. Barry held Saint Leo without a run of consecutive points for the duration of the half, heading into the intermission with a 49-31 advantage.
• 2H | Saint Leo responded to a Barry jumper to start the second half with a 5-0 run before the Buccaneer defense prevented the host from creating another run until a quick 4-0 run made it 81-53 with 7:44 left to play. Barry kept the lead above 20 for the rest of the night.

NOTEWORTHY:

• Delancy finished the night with a career-high 19 points off 8-8 shooting with two three pointers and one free throw.
• Adren Roberts added 17 points of 7-12 shooting with three assists.
• Nick Anderson chipped in 15 points.
• James Montgomery scored 10 points with seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block.
• Lacount dished out a personal-best eight assists.
• Sami Elkamel pulled down eight rebounds.
• Barry converted on 37-68 shots, going 13-21 from distance and 11-13 from the free throw line.
• Saint Leo went 26-65 from the field, 8-27 from three-point territory and 11-13 from the free throw line.
• Barry committed 15 turnovers, resulting in 19 points for the Lions. Saint Leo committed 16 turnovers, leading to 22 points for Barry.
• Barry held a 38-34 advantage in rebounds.
• Barry recorded eight steals with one block while Saint Leo had eight steals and two blocks.
