Women's Soccer | 9/14/2023 9:39:00 PM

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers led 1-0 against the Florida National Conquistadors when the game was canceled at the half due to inclement weather on Thursday night at Buccaneer Field.

INSIDE THE MATCHUP
Final: Barry 1, Florida National 0
Records: Barry (na), PBA (na)
All-Time Series: Barry leads 2-0-0

SUMMARY:

  • 9:01 - Shienne Gadson took a feed from Katelyn Billoch in front of the goal and converted for the only score of the game in the 10th minute. | Barry 1, FNU 0
  • 29:58 - Billoch won a penalty after being fouled by FNU's Ariana Ulloa, but was unable to convert the kick when Conqs' keeper Nahomie Ambroise got in front of it.
  • 45:00 - The game had just gone to halftime when there was a lightning alarm. Later, heavy rains flooded the field, prohibiting a return to play.

NOTEWORTHY:

  • Ambroise had 12 saves, including the PK, and benefited from one ball swept off the line by her defense, to keep the game as close as it was.
  • The Bucs out-shot the Conquistadors 21-1, including 13-0 on goal and led 3-0 in corner kicks as FNU rarely advanced the ball past midfield.
  • Barry held possession for 82 percent of the first half, with the majority of it on the offensive end.

ON THE HORIZON:

The Bucs host the Lady Penmen of Southern New Hampshire on Saturday, Sept. 15 at 2:00 pm at Buccaneer Field.
