ORLANDO, Fla. -- The top-seeded and ranked Barry Buccaneers swept the #5-ranked and fourth-seeded Flagler Saints 4-0 at the 2023 NCAA Division II Women's Tennis Championship at the USTA Training Center on Monday to advance to the national finals.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Bucs quickly took the doubles point with 6-2 win at the second and third flights
- In singles, Clara Versier steam-rolled past Charlotta Buss, winning the first 11 games, before settling for a 6-0, 6-2 victory at #6.
- Number one-ranked Deniz Khazan made it 3-0 with a 6-3, 6-0 win over number four Luisa Hrda at the top flight.
- #39-ranked Xyao Wang clinched the match with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Eryka Kruk at number four.
- The other matches went unfinished.
NOTEWORTHY:
- For Barry, it is their sixth in a row and the ninth time overall to advance to the NCAA final. They have seven championships, including the last five in a row, and two runner-up finishes in 30 tournament appearances.
- The Bucs have now won 89 straight matches, the longest winning streak in program history.
- Barry improved to 95-21 all-time in the NCAA Tournament, the most wins of any program in NCAA Division II history.
- It was the second time that the Bucs and Saints had met on the courts this year, with the Bucs winning both meetings. In fact, Barry hass never lost to the Saints in 18 matches.

The Bucs will take the second-ranked Nova Southeastern Sharks for the championship on Tuesday, May. 16 at 6:00 pm.
