MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The top-ranked and No. 1 seed Barry Buccaneers women's tennis team swept the No. 8 seeded Benedict Tigers 4-0 in the South Regional semifinal, Monday morning at the Buccaneer Tennis Center.
The Bucs got off to a quick start by winning the doubles point without dropping a game. Deniz Khazan and partner Nathalia Gasparin won 6-0 at Doubles 2 and Daniela Farfan and Xiyao Wang won 6-0 at Doubles #3.
Barry went on to win the first set at every singles match. Patricia Boentgen ripped through Riggins in straight-sets without giving up a game at Singles 6. Clara Versier dominated her opponent in straight-sets without giving up a game as well, at Singles 5. Xiyao Wang clinched the match for the Bucs at Singles 4, 6-0, 6-1.
