MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers swept a Sunshine State Conference baseball doubleheader with arch-rival Lynn on Saturday at Feinbloom Field, winning 15-14 and 12-7, to complete the series sweep.

The Bucs built a big lead early, only to see the Kinghts storm back to tie the game in the ninth. The Bucs walked off with the win after a Jarrett May single in the bottom of the ninth.
- B1: Brandon Sanchez led off with a double down the left-field line and Christian Maceda beat out a bunt single to put runners on the corners. Both moved up on a passed ball by Knight catcher Peter Avino. After a walk to Evan Wickeri and a sacrifice, Kevin Noriega doubled in both runners. | Barry 3, Lynn 0
- B2: The Bucs scored three more in the second. Savi Delgado was hit by pitch leading off the inning and stole second. Steven Nitch delivered a double to left center to plate Delgado. After a single and stolen base by Sanchez, Joe Stella knocked a double of his own to left center to score both runners. | Barry 6, Lynn 0

- B4: Barry resonded with five runs in the bottom of the inning. Sanchez reached on an error by Derek LaMontagne at third to lead off the inning and Maceda followed with a double. Sanchez scored on a ground out by Stella and Noriega knocked in Maceda with a single to left. After a base hit by Jake Ogden, Forchic singled to drive in Noriega. - T6: As the Bucs did the night before, the Knights started to rally off the Buccaneer bullpen. Murray hit another two-run homer and Shawn Doughtery followed with a solo shot. | Barry 13, Lynn 5
- B6: Barry got one run back in the bottom of the inning. Forchic walked an went to second on a wild pitch. Sanchez knocked him in with a single to center. | Barry 14, Lynn 5

- T8: The Knights exploded for six runs in the eighth, sending 12 men to the plate. Ryan Ford beat out an infield hit and Avino walked. John Rodriguez blasted a three-run homer to clear the bases. Orrico started the rally again with single to center before the Bucs recorded two outs. LaMontagne walked and Murray drove in another run with single to center. Dougherty followed with another RBI single and Ford was hit by pitch to load the bases. Avino forced in the sixth run with a bases-loaded walk. | Barry 14, Lynn 13
- T9: The Knights finally tied the game in the ninth. Orrico walked off reliever Angel Cespedes (4-1) to lead off. Cespedes got the next two Knights to strikeout, but tossed a wild pitch on strike three to Leon Paulino, allowing Orrico to advance all the way to third. - B9: Wickeri doubled to lead off the ninth and Stella singled to send him to third. After Stella swiped second, May launched a long single to left center to drive in Wickeri with the winner. | Barry 15, Lynn 14

The Knights led early, only to see Barry score eight runs in the sixth inning, highlighted by a grand slam by Stella.
- T2: The Knights jumped on the baord first in game two. Yuzuki Okamura doubled with two outs and Ford followed with a double to left for the first run. Rodriguez then ripped a homer down the left-field line. | Lynn 3, Barry 0
- B2: Forchic and Matthew Menendez hit back-toback doubles to get Barry on the board. After Abreu singled and stole second, Sanchez bounced a single up the middle to tie the game. | Barry 3, Lynn 3
- B3: Barry took the lead on a solo homer by Ogden, his team-leading seventh of the season. | Barry 4, Lynn 3
- T6: Lynn took the lead back with four runs in the sixth. Paulino and LaMontagne led off with singles and Murray doubled to right center to drive both in. The Knights loaded the bases as Dougherty was hit by pitch and Forda walked. Rodriguez doubled down the left-field line to score two runs. | Lynn 7, Barry 4
- B6: The Bucs wasted no time in reclaiming the lead, sending 12 men to the plate and scoring eight runs. Forchic singled to lead off the bottom of the sixth and Menendez blasted a long homer to left center. Abreu singled up the middle and Sanchez ripped a double to left. Maceda walked to load the bases. Wickeri beat out an infield single to score Abreu, which tied the game. Stella followed with a grand slam, giving Barry a four-run lead. NOTEWORTHY:
- The Knights spoiled a solid start by Frank II Gonzalez in game one. The Buccaneer junior tossed five innings, allowing just two runs on three hits and a walk and striking out five.
- Cespedes was gifted the win after workign the ninth. He allowed the tying run on two hits and two walks, but struck out three.
- Eric Heatter (1-1) took the loss. He worked out of a jam in the eighth, but could not hold the Bucs down in the ninth.
- Miguel Villafane (1-0) earned his first career win. He allowed a hit, scoring an inherited runner, in the sixth, but then retired nine of the next batters, four on strikeouts, as the Bucs rallied for the win.
- Drew Clark (1-1) faced two batters, walking one and giving up a hit. Both came around to score, hanging the loss on him.
- Sanchez went 6-for-11 in the twin bill, with two doubles, scoring four runs and driving in three.
- Forchic was 4-for-7, drew two walks and scored five runs.
- Stella was 4-for-8, with a double and a grand slam driving in seven.
- The Bucs ran wild on the bases, stealing 11 bags in 12 attempts, with nine different players stealing at least one.
- Murray led the Knights, going 7-for-10 with two doubles, two homers four runs and eight RBI.
ON THE HORIZON:
Barry plays on the road next week, visiting cross-town rival St. Thomas on Tuesday, then facing Rollins in Winter Park, Fla., on the weekend.
