SAINT LEO, Fla. -- The Barry University softball team dropped both games of a Sunshine State Conference (SSC) doubleheader to Saint Leo University, 8-3 and 6-0, on Saturday afternoon at University Stadium. The Lions (13-1, 6-0 SSC) swept the three-game series from the Buccaneers (11-8, 2-4 SSC), and remain undefeated in league action. Saint Leo had five-run frames in each of today's games. Barry suffers its first shutout in 2023 in Game Two.

NOTEWORTHY:

• Maci Barnhart (L, 4-3) started the nightcap and struck out six while allowing just two earned runs in 4.2 innings pitched.
• Cassandra Lee (L, 5-2) started the first of today's twinbill and took the loss there while also coming in relief of the second game.
• Buccaneers crossed the plate safely four times in 21 innings during the three-game series.
