MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The junior varsity Buccaneers improved to 5-1 after beating Atlantis University 12-2, in game shorten by the run rule on Monday afternoon at Feinbloom Field.

One out later, Nicolas Garcia shot a single through the right side. - B4 - Barry kept pouring it on the fourth. Ecken walked again to lead off and Huembes followed with a single to left. After Rodriguez dropped a single down the right-field line to load the bases, Ecken scored on a double play ball. - B5 - The Bucs pushed across another pair in the fifth. Czarnomski walks and Garcia moved him to second with a single through the right side. Huembes knocked in Czarnomski with another single to left and Rodriguez plated Garcia with a base hit. | Barry 9, Atlantis 2
- B6 - Barry rapped out three straight doubles in the six to push across three runs. Alex Campbell reached on an error. One out later, Andrew Perez doubled down the right-field line. Garcia, knoced in both runners with a long double to center and Connor Charron swapped places with him with a double down the line in right. | Barry 12, Atlantis 2
NOTEWORTHY:
- It was the second run-rule game for the Bucs in the last four.
- Riley Reed (1-0) worked four innings to get the win for the Bucs. He allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits and three walks and struck out five.
- Robbie Throop worked three scoreless innings, allowing just one hit, and struck out four to earn his first save.
- Chris Churchman took the loss for the Atlanteans. He allowed five runs (four earned) on six hits and a walk in three innings.
- The keystone combination of Rodrguez and Huembes led the Bucs at the plate. Rodriguez was 4-for-4 with four RBI and Huembes was 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
- Garcia also had three hits, including a double, scored three runs and drove in two.
