MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The junior varsity Buccaneer improved to 3-0 after beating Florida National University 17-3, in game shorten by the run rule on Monday afternoon at Feinbloom Field.

• T1 - FNU got on the board first with Alex Lopez doubling to right center, scoring in Boris Valdes and Nate Diaz. | FNU 2, Barry 0
• B1 - The Buccaneers then took the lead in the bottom of the first. Lee-Anthony Santiago doubled down the left field line and Aramis Ramirez Jr., who walked, advanced to third. CJ Bussell followed with another walk and Freddie Rodriguez got base hit to left field driving in Santiago and Ramirez, while Bussell advanced to second. Bussell advanced to third after a fielding error by the FNU shortstop and scored on a fielder's choice by Nicolas Garica. | Barry 3, FNU 2
• B2 - Barry added another run after a throwing error by the FNU pitcher, which led to an Alex Czarnomski run. | Barry 4, FNU 2
• B3 - Damian Tamayo tripled to right center and then scored after a single to left center by Alex Campbell. The Buccaneers then added two more runs on a wild pitch and walk. | Barry 7, FNU 2
• B4 - The bottom of the fourth started with back-to-back triples by Rodriguez and Tomayo. Tomayo later scored with a ground out to second by Gracia. Dylan Ecken doubled down the right field line driving in a run and Brodie Jellum did the same with a single up the middle. | Barry 11, FNU 2
• B5 - FNU walked three in the bottom fifth forcing in a run. With bases loaded, Vincenzo Macolino singled to right field driving in Connor Charron. Hector Vilorio added another RBI with a ground out and Jellum knocked in Akira Nakamura with a double to right field. | Barry 15, FNU 2
• B6 - With the bases loaded, Andrew Perez drove in a run with an infield single. With the bases still loaded, Macolino walked to force in Matthew Huembes. | Barry 17, FNU 2
• T7 - FNU scored once again in the seventh with Euardo Solano reaching on a fielder's choice and driving in a run. | Barry 17, FNU 3     

NOTEWORTHY:

• The Buccaneers went on to score in every inning. 
• Riley Reed earned his first save with three innings in relief in the split game. He allowed a run on two hits and a walk and struck out six
• Jean Zambrano (1-0) gets the win in the split game. He worked two innings and gave up two runs on four hits. He struck out three but did not walk a batter. 
• Robert Rodriguez (0-1) took the lost for the Conquistadors. He gave up six runs (four earned) on five hits and two walks.
• Rodriguez went 3-for-5 with a triple, two runs scored, and two RBI.
• Jellum drove in three with two hits including a double. 
• Tamayo two triples today tied the JV record set by Rodriguez against Elev8 in the opener.
