MIAMI SHORES, Fla - Hosting the defending national champions on Saturday afternoon, the Barry University men's basketball team overcame an early deficit and led for a bulk of the first half until a late run by Nova Southeastern gave them a double-digit halftime lead which they maintained in a 125-98 result.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- 1H | Barry responded to a 7-0 start by NSU with a 13-4 stretch to take a 13-11 lead with 16:37 remaining in the opening half. Barry extended their lead to seven at 30-23 only for a 12-3 run by the Sharks flipping the advantage at 35-33 with 9:25 left in the half. Barry reclaimed the lead at 41-39 off a 4-0 run, pushing it up to five at 48-43 before a 23-6 stretch by NSU created a 66-54 score with 56 seconds left in the half. Barry brought the deficit down to single digits off a triple, while a pair of NSU free throws with 24 seconds left made it 68-57 at halftime.
- 2H | Barry started the second half with nine of the opening 12 points to get within four at 70-66 before the Sharks recreated their double-digit lead at 80-70 with 15:11 left to play. NSU held the Bucs without a run of consecutive points for the rest of the contest.
