Women's Basketball Sinks Lakers

Bucs run their win streak to three games

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. --  The Barry women's basketball team sank the Lake Superior State Lakers 77-47 on Cesar Odio Court on Sunday.

SUMMARY:

  • 1Q - The Lakers led 6-4 after a layup by Gracey Metz at 7:38. But the Bucs closed the quarter on a 12-2 run. | Barry 16, LSSU 8
  • 2Q - The Bucs held the Lakers without a field goal until after the Bucs took a double-figure lead after back-to-back three-pointers by Lauren Livingston. The Bucs took their biggest lead of the half on a free throw by Kayla Lindsey with 2:46 to play. | Barry 37, LSSU 24
  • 3Q - The Bucs opened the second half with a 13-4 run put Barry up by 23 points, 50-27 after a pair of free throws by Audrey Jennings. The Bucs took a 21-poitnlead into the final period.  | Barry 69, FNU 34
  • 4Q - The Bucs were up again by 23 with 3:47 left to play when they mounted a 10-0 run over the next two minutes to go up 33, 75-42.  | Barry 77, LSSU 47

NOTEWORTHY:

  • Jennings led the Bucs with 22 points, shooting 8-for-8 from the line.
  • Livingston chipped in 13 points off the bench, while Lindsey added 11.
  • The Lakers did not have anyone reach double-figures. Amanda Roach led the team with nine points.
  • Barry forced over 30 turnovers for the second straight game, turning 31 Laker miscues into 25 points.
  • The Bucs out-shot the Lakers from three-point range, hitting 7-of-19, including 4-of-7 from Jennings, while the Laker hit just 1-of-12.
  • Trinity Bosecker led the Bucs with eight rebounds, as they held a 46-36 edge on the glass.

ON THE HORIZON:

Barry travels to Eckerd on Dec. 31 coming out of the break. The game in St. Petersburg will be the first road game of the season for the Bucs.
