MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry women's basketball team lost 71-69 to the Virginia State Trojans on Cesar Odio Court on Friday.

- 4Q - The Bucs came storming back in the fourth quarter, opening the frame on a 16-3 runs to re-take the lead 58-56 on a Chiara Fusari layup with 4:33 remaining. The Bucs pushed the lead to four, after layups by Kayla Lindsey and Audrey Jennings. But the Trojans knotted the game at 65-65 on a jumper in the lane by Furman with 0:40 second left. Holly Davies gave Barry a two-point lead with 0:35 seconds left, but Amesha Miller worked a three-point play to put VSU back in front. Fusari connected on a short jumper with 0:17 seconds remaining, but Miller got back to the line and made a pair with 0:11 seconds and Cabria Lewis hit one of two to push the lead to 71-69 with just 0:03.8 left. Davies drove the ball up the left side and heaved a desperation shot with 0:0.9 left, but she was fouled by Mihjae Hayes and went to line for three shots. NOTEWORTHY:
- Fusari led the Bucs with 24 points, while Jennings and Bosecker each chipped in 13.
- Miller led VSU with 22 points, while Lewis and Tiyanna James each had 12 and Furman added 11.
- The teams combined for 57 turnover, 32 by Barry and 25 for VSU.
- Neither team shot better then 40 percent from the floor or 60 percent from the line.
- The Bucs were 0-for-10 from three-point range, while VSU hit 6-for-14 from long range.
- Bosecker had a game-high 14 rebounds and added four blocks.
- Miller also had a double-double with 10 boards.
