MIAMI SHORES, FL. - Trailing 2-0 heading into the third set of Tuesday evening's Sunshine State Conference contest,
Diana Akopova sparked the Barry University volleyball team to a game-best .303 hitting percentage in the frame behind a six-kill showing to force a fourth set in a 3-1 (25-20, 25-15, 22-25, 25-18) setback to Lynn University.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Set 1 - Falling behind early, Barry used a 7-3 stretch midway through the first set to take the lead at 14-13. Lynn reclaimed the lead behind a 4-0 run at 19-17 and held onto the lead for the rest of the staza.
- Set 2 - Barry scored the opening two points of the second set to take the early advantage before a 4-0 run flipped their two-point lead at 6-4. The Fighting Knights maintained the lead for the duration of the frame, creating a double-digit separation with the set-deciding point.
- Set 3 - The Bucs kicked off the third set with back-to-back points, responding to a 4-0 Lynn run that pushed them ahead 10-9 with a 4-1 stretch to reclaim the lead at 13-11. Lynn never trailed by more than three down the stretch, getting within one at 23-22 before back-to-back Barry points forced the fourth set.
- Set 4 - Lynn held Barry without a run of consecutive points over the opening 20 points of the fourth set, creating a 13-7 advantage during the stretch. Trailing 20-12 late in the frame, the Bucs used a 3-0 run to cut into the deficit with back-to-back points following a Lynn kill making it 21-17 before three-straight Lynn tallies created match point.

NOTEWORTHY:
Akopova ended the night with 15 kills and four solo blocks.
Varvara Osychenko chipped 11 kills with eight digs, two service aces and one solo block.
Fiona Baker dished out 38 assists with nine digs and three service aces.
Ana Perez anchored the defense behind 14 digs.
Rollins only recorded one more kill than Barry (56-55).
Barry held a 58-50 advantage in digs and 10-9 edge in blocks.
