Men's Soccer Clinches Second Straight Conference Title Over Mocs

Polanco scored a goal and added an assist in the win

LAKELAND, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers clinched their second-straight Sunshine State Conference men's soccer title with a 2-0 win over the Florida Southern Moccasins at Berend Field in Lakeland, Fla., on Saturday night.

The championship is the sixth for men's soccer and the 105th for the Buccaneers since joining the league for the 1988-89 season.

  • Barry out-shot the Moccasins 15-9, including 6-1 on goal.
  • Rafael Furlani had one save to earn his ninth win and fifth shutout.
  • Pierce had four saves, but conceded twice to take the loss.
  • The game-winner for Polanco was his conference-leading fourth of the season.
  • Furlani is riding a 428-minute scoreless streak after the clean sheet.

ON THE HORIZON:

Barry host the Florida National Conquistadors on Thursday, Nov. 2 at Buccaneer Field. The Bucs will honor the 2023 senior class before the game.
