MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry University men's basketball team fell to the nationally-ranked No. 2 Sharks of Nova Southeastern University, 108-92, in Sunshine State Conference (SSC) action Saturday afternoon at the Cesar Odio Court in the Health & Sports Center in Miami Shores, Florida.

SUMMARY:
- 1H - The Buccaneers were either ahead or tied for the first six minutes. Tyler Hawkins had a dozen first-half points to lead Barry. After Ryan Davis gave the Sharks their first lead, 18-17 at 13:57, it took just over two minutes before Nova Southeastern pushed its advantage to double-digits. RJ Sunahara dunked and later converted a turnover into two free throws. Will Yoakum had three straight baskets including a pair of triples to complete a 16-0 run for the visitors. The Sharks pressured the Buccaneers into 16 turnovers and turned those into 25 points. Sunahara led all players with 21 points on 8-for-9 from the floor including two threes and three free throws. Kobe Rodgers added 10 points for the Sharks. Nova Southeastern shot over 65 percent (23-for-35) for the first half and made half of its threes (6-for-12). - 2H - Malik Stanley (12) and Nick Anderson (11) combined for 23 of the Buccaneers' 53 points in the period. With Barry facing its largest deficit (minus-24 points at 76-52) at 13:56, Anderson made two free throws and Jaron Williams had a second-chance layup to key a 9-0 run. Tyler Hawkins had a layup and 3-pointer as well. Anderson's 3-pointer at 7:04 and Karson Jenkins' layup at 0:42 brought the Bucs within 14 points both times, their closest margin since the first half. RJ Sunahara went scoreless in three minutes of second-half action but Mike Moore (13), Jonathan Pierre (12), and Will Yoakum picked up the Sharks' offense. - Both teams were charged with 15 fouls in the first half; Nova Southeastern finished with 27 personals and Barry was whistled for 25 infractions.
