Götbring Named Inkster Award Winner For Division II

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – The Women's Golf Coaches Association has announced that Barry's Alice Götbring has earned the 2022 Inkster Award for Divisions II.

The Inkster Award recognizes the highest ranked women's collegiate golfer on Golfstat in her final year of NCAA eligibility. The award is presented separately to the top Division I, II and III players.  The recipient must be academically eligible per NCAA rules and have played a minimum of 12 rounds during the year.

Alice Götbring, Barry University

Götbring, a native of Vaxholm, Sweden, finished the 2021-22 season as the top-ranked player on Golfstat with a scoring average of 72.79. She won five tournaments, including the Sunshine State Conference Championship and the NCAA South Regional, to tie the school record for most wins in a single season. The 2021-22 Division II PING WGCA Player of the Year ended the season by finishing in the top-two in five of her last six events.

The Women's Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches. The WGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. Today, the WGCA represents over 650 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
