Softball Takes Two From Eagles

The Bucs won both legs of Saturday's doubleheader

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneer softball team took down the Embry-Riddle Eagles twice on Saturday, May 7, winning both legs of a doubleheader that lasted late into the night with the second game suffering a lightning delay and then going 12 innings.

(GAME 1) SUMMARY:
  • B3 - A leadoff walk from Courtney Chisolm turned into the only run of the game after back-to-back groundouts moved her to third and then Cassandra Lee brought her home on a single. | Bucs 1, Eagles 0
(GAME 2) SUMMARY:
  • T1 - Four hits allowed the Eagles to record a pair of runs. | Eagles 2, Barry 0
  • B1 - Annabella Phillips knocked a single to bring home Taylor Thompson and put the Bucs on the board. | Eagles 2, Bucs 1
  • B2 - Payton Germer scored on a throwing error after drawing a leadoff walk to even the game up. | Tied 2-2
  • B12 - Rylee Lord broke up a defensive game with a double into right field in the leadoff spot and Becka Mellor came up big an at-bat later to drive in the winning run.
