DAVIE, Fla. -- Alice Götbring added another milestone to her collegiate career on Wednesday, May 4, winning the NCAA South Regional at +5 while leading the Bucs to an NCAA Championship birth as Barry finished in the top-five.
The Bucs were joined at the invitational by eleven other teams, all of which are ranked in the Golfstat Top-50. Six of the seven top teams in the country are competing at the regional.
Barry and Saint Leo ended tied for the fifth and final spot to advance to the national field. Barry came out on top in a one-hole aggregate playoff on hole No. 18.
BUCCANEER HIGHLIGHTS:
Alice Götbring (+5) (73-74-71--218) 1st Place
- Götbring tied for fourth on the par-4 holes and fifth on the par-5s
- She led the tournament in par holes with 39 of the 54, adding five birdies
- It is her fifth individual title this year, tying Tilda Larsson's school record set in 2017-18
- She is just the second Buccaneer to win the individual regional title, after Larsson in 2018
Eve Marie Sapin (+11) (77-73-74--224) T-15th Place
- Sapin was second on the team off the par-4 holes and tied with Götbring on the par-5s
- She led the team with six birdies and added 33 pars
Giuliana Gomez (+16) (75-76-78--229) T-36th Place
- Gomez had 31 par holes, with four birdies
Maria Cowan (+16) (79-72-78--229) T-36th Place
- Cowan also had 31 pars and tied Götbring with five birdies
Nina Klug (+21) (82-76-76--234) T-54th Place
- Klug had 32 par holes and added three birdies

RESULTS
NOTEWORTHY:
- The Bucs were second on the par-5 holes, finishing just +2.
- Barry placed fourth in pars with 166, adding 23 birdies.
- The trip to the national finals is the seventh for the Bucs since 2012. Barry has won one national championship (2017) and finished second twice (2002, 2014).
ON THE HORIZON:
The Bucs will now travel to Gainesville, Ga., for the NCAA DII National Championship starting on Tuesday, May 10.
