MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers split a Sunshine State Conference baseball doubleheader with the 10th-ranked Rollins Tars on Saturday, winning the first game 9-3, but falling 5-3 in the nightcap at Feinbloom Field.

Game 1
- B3: The Bucs struck first in the game one. Omar Baldo singled with two outs. Ihosvany Castaneda beat out an infield single, but the throw by third baseman Joey Rubin sailed down the line and Baldo motored around with the first run. | Bucs 1, Tars 0

- B3: Barry struck first in the nightcap, without the benefit of a hit. Sanchez was hit by pitch again and Branden Abreu reached on an error by third baseman Drew Howard. Rollins starter Nick Berger threw a sharp breaking ball to strikeout Matthew Menendez, but the ball got away, allowing Sanchez to score. | Bucs 1, Tars 0
- T5: Chase Achuff singled in Kyle Bullock to tie the game in the fifth. | Bucs 1, Tars 1
- T8: The Tars batted around and scored four runs in the eighth. Sam Tanous walked with one out. Jeslyn Whitehead and Santucci followed with singles to score Tanous. After a passed ball and an intentional walk to Smith, Bullock was hit by a pitch to drive in Whitehead and Tim Mira doubled down the left field line to score two more. | Tars 5, Bucs 1

- B9: The Bucs staged a rally in the ninth, but only managed a run. Baldo singled to right with one out, but was erased on a fielder's choice by Castaneda. NOTEWORTHY:
- Jake Fishman (2-0) earned the win in the first game by setting down 12 of the 13 batters he faced in relief, including 11 in a row. He walked on and struck out two.
- Alintoff (5-3) took the loss after giving up six runs (five earned) on eight hits, four walks and two hit batters in 5.1 innings.Â
- In the night cap, Austin Long (2-1) worked 1.1 innings in relief to get the win for the Tars. Achuff allowed a run on three hits in the ninth, but picked up his fifth save.
- Danny Vazquez (1-2) took the loss for the Bucs, allowing four runs on two hits and two walks in a third of an inning.
- Stella led the Bucs at the plate with four hits, including two doubles and five RBI.
- Castaneda had three hits, scored three runs and stole three bases.
- Sanchez also scored three runs after being hit by pitch three times.Â

The Bucs travel to play top-ranked Tampa next weekend.
