WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneer softball team split their doubleheader with the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish on Sunday, Apr. 3, losing the first game 0-1 and winning the second 5-4 in extra innings.

Game 1
- B4 - The Sailfish scored the only run in a defensive ball game when Maura Glatczak smacked a double down the left field line to bring home Meredith Milam who reached earlier on a leadoff single. | Sailfish 1, Bucs 0
Game 2
- T1 - The Bucs came out with a vengeance in game two, started off by a triple down the right field line from Mac Stone-Folmar. Cassandra Lee drew a walk the next play to bring up Annabella Phillips who proceeded to smack a double and bring home Stone-Folmar and move Lee to third. Payton Germer brought home Lee on a groundout the next play and Sofia Chamorro followed that up with a sacrifice fly to bring home Phillips. | Bucs 3, Sailfish 0
- T6 - Chamorro knocked a single in the leadoff spot and later scored on an error to increase the Bucs' lead to four. | Bucs 4, Sailfish 0
- B6 - PBA came back with a haymaker of their own, scoring four runs on five hits to tie the game up and ultimately send things into extra innings. | Tied 4-4
- T8 - Skylar Jenkins knocked a single into center field and stole second the next at-bat to get into scoring position. Becka Mellor knocked a single to bring her home and give the Bucs the lead that they would hold onto for the win. | Bucs 5, Sailfish 4
NOTEWORTHY:
- Maci Barnhart took the loss in the first game despite giving up just three hits and one run in six innings of action but got a win in the second game after pitching three innings in relief. The Bucs' had 12 strikeouts in nine innings for the Bucs between the two games.
- Mellor had an outstanding day for the Bucs, hitting 3-5 at the plate, one of which was a game-winning smack.

The Bucs will now finish up their series against the Sailfish with a game tomorrow on Monday evening at 6pm.
