Baseball Loses To Blazers

Bucs fall to 2-5

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers lost 11-3 to the Valdosta State Blazers on Saturday afternoon at Feinbloom Field.

SUMMARY:

  • T1 - Barry fell behind early as the Blazers pounded out four hits, including two doubles, to score four runs in the first. EJ Doskow had a two-run double to get things started. | VSU 4, Barry 0
  • T2 - Jakob Sessa doubled for the second time in the game, driving in David Crawford, who had singled. | VSU 5, Barry 0
  • B2 - Jose Tababrez singled with one out, stole second and scored one out later on a wild pitch. | VSU 5, Barry 1 
  • T5 - Doskow had another two-run double and later scored on a single by Preton Joye  | VSU 8, Barry 1

NOTEWORTHY:

  • Mike Reagan (0-2) took the loss for the Bucs in his second start. He gave up eight runs (seven earned) on eight hits and two walks in 4.0 innings.
  • Anthony Boix allowed three runs on six hits in 3.0 innings of relief.
  • JJ Finn (2-0) earned the win for the Blazers with 6.0 strong innings. He allowed one run on eight hits. He struck out two, but did not walk a batter.
  • Tabares led the Bucs at the plate with three hits. Elijah Eusebe and Bran Socorro each had two hits, including a double each.
  • Doskow was 3-for-5 with two doubles and four RBI for the Blazers.

ON THE HORIZON:

Barry hits the road next weekend for their Sunshine State Conference opener at Florida Tech.
