MELBOURNE, Fla.— The third-seeded Barry Buccaneers take on the seventh seed Wingate Bulldogs in the round of 16 in the 2022 NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Tournament. The game will be streamed on the Buccaneer Broadcasting Network with live stats provided by StatBroadcast.

Barry earned a spot by beating sixth-seeded Christian Brothers 3-0 in the second round, behind a shutout from Nills Buecheler and two goals from Juan Simoniello. Barry is paced by one of the top offenses in Division II, ranking 15th with 2.41 goals per game. 

Midfielder Daniel Schaal (Senior), forward David Polanco (sophomore) and defender Iker Berruezo (Junior) made the All-Sunshine State Conference First Team, while defender Jordi Ramon (Senior) earned a spot on the Second Team. Freshman midfielder Nicolas Villalobos was named the conference Freshman of the Year.

Wingate advanced by virtue of a pair of shootouts after 1-1 ties with #10 Converse and #2 Lenoir-Rhyne. The Bulldogs are built on defense with keeper Aleksa Janjic (freshman), defender Owen Marshall (junior) and midfielder Pedro Santos (sophomore) made the South Atlantic Conference first team, with Marshall earning defensive player of the year.  Defender Niclas Wittur (junior) and forward Emil Svenander (freshman) made the second team.

The winner advances to the quarterfinals, facing the winner of the match between #1 seed Florida Tech and #5 Rollins on Sunday, Nov. 20 at 3:00 pm.
