WHAT THEY'RE SAYING:
"I thought we played well in first half, we were aggressive and locked in," said head coach Butch Estes, "I don't think we played as well in the second half but we really battled, fought hard, and made some big plays down the stretch. I love our balance and the fact we had another game with five guys in double figures. Justinas was huge for us down low with 15 rebounds. Him and Toru Dean were both magnificent defensively. It was a great win but now its time to get back to Miami Shores where we will take on Florida Tech on Wednesday. We hope to see a good crowd with all the students coming back, it really makes a difference."
SUMMARY:
- 1H - Michael Schaefer scored on a fade away jumper at the 14:52 mark to put the Bucs up 19-9 but the Eagles' Jon Alessandro came right back with a corner three to keep Embry-Riddle in striking distance. Nick Anderson knocked down a corner triple on a fast break off a steal from Dean to stretch the Bucs' lead back to double-digits. A few possessions later, Jake Kakar tried his best to one-up his teammate, knocking down a fast break trey of his own to make it a 13-point advantage for Barry. Justinas Marcinkevicius played a huge role down low for the Bucs, recording 11 rebounds in the half. The first half ended on a defensive note for both teams after a 1:33 scoring drought for both teams was ended by a free throw from the Eagles' David Park. | Barry 50, ERAU 34
- 2H - Back-to-back buckets from Marcinkevicius and Landon Kirkwood increased the lead to 23 for the Bucs with 15 minutes to play. The two sides would trade baskets until the Eagles ripped off a 17-7 run to make it a seven-point ball game with less than four minutes to play. Embry-Riddle would cut the lead all the way down to four with 2:26 to play but a huge triple from Kakar with 1:29 left put the Bucs up 87-78 and ultimately was the dagger. | Barry 96, Eagles 87
