MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The 2022 season kicks off the Barry University junior varsity baseball program. Head coach
DJ Price has a challenging slate of games scheduled for the spring.
"I'm super excited to start the inaugural season of junior varsity baseball here at Barry," Price said. "This year, adding outside competition to player development is huge. Having the opportunity to play a schedule of other conference JV teams, NAIA and Junior college programs will help our players develop and grow. Player development is the main objective with the junior varsity and having a full slate of games will allow us to evaluate and improve on our system."
The Bucs play 19 of their 25 scheduled games in the friendly confines of Feinbloom Field, facing other JV programs from around the state, some junior college opponents and some prep foes.
The Bucs host junior varsity programs including Florida Southern, Rollins, Florida National, and St. Thomas, as well as junior college foe ASA-Miami. In addition, some of the top prep programs in the state, including Elev8, E-Quad and ScoutzUSA will visit The Shores.
The team will also travel to face Florida Southern and Rollins as well as Keiser.
