MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Barry rolled to a 25-20, 25-23, 25-15 win over Rollins in the opener for both Sunshine State Conference and home volleyball on Friday night in the Health & Sports Center.

SUMMARY:
- 1st set | The Bucs overcame a 0.88 attack percentage, and six total blocks for the Tars, in the first set, thanks to five service aces and some outstanding defensive work as Barry dug up 11 of 13 possible attacks.
- 2nd set | Set two was a more nip and tuck affair, as neither team could build much of a lead until Rollins went up 23-21 after a kill by Rebecca Kuehn. After a Barry timeout, however, the Bucs rolled off four straight points to take the set. Yileen Ng He delivered the set point with an assist from Bianca Paşca.
- 3rd set | The third set was all Bucs practically from the get go. Leading 8-7, Monica Lopez served off a 7-0 run, with two service aces and two kills from Djuly Schmorantz to build a 15-7 lead. Rollins later closed the gap to 23-15 on the strength of a Jessika Linnemeyer serving run. But Luana Bulara closed the match with two service wins, including an ace on match point. Barry reversed their hitting woes from the first two sets, out-hitting the Tars .171 to .034.
NOTEWORTHY:.
- Ng He led the Bucs with 10 kills and a .474 attack percentage.
- Paşca had a monster game at the net, netting a team-high nine block assists, tying her for second-place in program history. She added 23 assists and three service aces.
- As a team, Barry had 11 aces, three each by Paşca and Lopez.
- Lopez led the team with 16 digs.

The Bucs are on the road tomorrow, visiting Florida Tech at the Clemente Center in Melbourne, Fla. First serve is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
