MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers won their final non-conference game of the season, 87-68, over the Florida National Conquistadors on Wednesday night on Cesar Odio Court in women's basketball action.

"I was pleased that we got a chance to play nearly everyone," Barry head coach Bill Sullivan said. "And we really showed some resiliency when they made their run in the fourth quarter."
SUMMARY:
- 1Q - The game was close early and Barry didn't take the lead for good until Harriet Swindells hit a triple at the 8:41 mark. That started a 20-3 run over the next 6:13 that culminated with a three-pointer from Melanie Jordan that gave Barry a 22-6 lead. - 2Q - Though the second quarter was closer, the Bucs still tacked another three points on the lead to carry a 22-point margin into the half. | Barry 46, FNU 24
- 3Q - Barry took a 28-point lead twice in the third period behind the shooting of Swindells. She hit a trey at 4:15 to put the Bucs up 58-30 and a pair of free throws at 3:19 to make it 60-32. The Conquistadors trimmed five points off with a 9-4 run to close the period. | Barry 64, FNU 41
- In the fourth quarter, the Bucs went to the bench and FNU went to a press and knocked the Bucs' lead down to just 12 points, 69-57, on a free throw by Ashley Williams. Barry responded, mostly from the free throw line, over the next two minutes to extend the lead back to 18, 78-60, on a pair from the stripe by Emma Hergot. A three-pointer from Jordan pushed the margin back over 20 before the Conquistadors hit the last shot to make the final margin 19. | Barry 87, FNU 68
NOTEWORTHY:
- Hergot had perhaps her best all-around game of the season, leading the team with 16 points and 14 rebounds. She added four assists, four blocks and two steals.
- Swindells chipped in 14 points, while Jordan added 13 and Nerea Baena had 10 points.
- Breyuna Walker led the Conquistadors with 12 points off the bench, including 6-for-6 from the line.
- Adria Stewart had 10 points.
- Barry shot 50 percent (26-of-52) from the floor, including 13-of-30 from three-point range. Six different players connected from beyond the arc.
ON THE HORIZON:
The Bucs travel to Tampa, Fla., on Saturday to take on the league-leading Tampa Spartans.
