MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers got back to their winning ways with an 89-80 win over arch-rival Lynn on Cesar Odio Court on Wednesday night in Sunshine State Conference men's basketball action.

SUMMARY:
- The Bucs jumped out to an early lead, going up eight, 16-8, on a layup by Evan Walshe at 12:54 of the first.
- But the Knights made a run back to get to within one, 24-23, on a jumper by Jordan Allen just six minutes later.
- An 11-3 run later, capped by a layup by Tylan Birts, moved the Bucs back up by nine, and they took an eight point lead, 41-33, into halftime.
- Lynn came out firing in the second half, out-scoring Barry 10-1 in the first two minutes. A Christian Peevy dunk gave Lynn their first, and only, lead of the game, 43-42 at the 17:41 mark.
- Though Barry pushed the lead back out to six points, the Knights would not go away. A three-pointer by Brandon Bornelus at 11:57 to play, trimmed the margin back to one point, 55-54.
- Birts hit a three-pointer of his own with 10:04 remaining, to restore the eight-point margin at 64-56.
- Barry took its biggest lead, 82-69, on a layup by Toru Dean at 3:30 on the clock.
- Walshe went 5-for-6 from the line in the last minute to seal the win.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Birts had a career-high with 34 points on 15-of-28 shooting and added a game-high 12 rebounds. He also chipped in three blocks, three assists and two steals for an excellent all-around game.
- Walshe backed Birts up with 16 points. Johannes Dolven matched Birts with 12 rebounds.
- Allen led Lynn with 18 points, while Peevy had 16 and Bornelus added 13.
- Barry owned the boards, out-rebounding Lynn 56-32, including 26-10 on the offensive end.
