MIAMI SHORES, FL. – The Buccaneers took all four matches during the 2019 BarryU Classic without dropping a set at the Health & Sports Center this weekend. On Saturday, Barry handled East Stroudsburg in game one 25-18, 25-11, 25-14 and then handed MSU-Mankato their first loss of the season 25-15, 25-17 and 25-22.

First Match
- 1st set | The Buccaneer offense was a well-oiled machine early on with three players recording five kills in the initial set. Megi Buvinic, Kristina Filimonova and Kishara Gordon all contributed to the Bucs finishing the set with a .433 attack percentage.
- 2nd set | Barry recorded three blocks and held the Warriors to a -.125 attack percentage.
- 3rd set | The score was tied 8-8 when Gabriela Jansen took advantage of her opportunities at the net, going 6-for-9 and leading Barry to close out the set on a 17-5 run. Jansen recording six of her seven kills in this set while tacking on three digs.
Second Match
- 1st set | Anastasiia Samokhvalova & Megi Buvinic sparked a 12-2 Barry run to take the lead for good. Buvinic recorded a pair of aces during the run and Samokhvalova added a pair of blocks.
- 2nd set | Barry was able to keep the Mavericks from stringing together points by keeping a side out percentage of 66 percent.
- 3rd set | MSU-Mankato went toe-to-toe with Barry until a couple of clutch kills from Buvinic and Filimonova wrapped up the match for the Bucs.

Pasca had nine total aces in the two matches today
- Barry went 29-of-44 (65%) in side out opportunities against East Stroudsburg
- Rose is 245 digs away from becoming the 8th Buccaneer player to record 1,000 digs in their career
- The Bucs have maintained a sideout percentage of 65 percent through the first four games
- Four Buccaneers were named to the 2019 BarryU Classic All-Tournament Team. Pasca, Buvinic, Rose and Filimonova were voted among tournament head coaches.

ON THE HORIZON:
Barry will head to Denver, Colorado for the Premier Colorado Challenge that will hold many top-ranked teams on the campuses of MSU Denver and Regis. The Bucs will start the tournament against No.7-ranked Lewis on Friday, September 13 and later take on No. 17 Central Missouri.
