Women's Tennis Takes Down Tampa On Senior Day

The Buccaneers captured a 6-1 victory over the Spartans

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Buccaneers sent their seniors off in style, capturing a 6-1 victory over the Tampa Spartans after honoring their four seniors; Verena Schmid, Hannah Seizer, Zuza Maciejewska, and Carolin Schmidt, before the match on Sunday, Apr. 14.

"I just started with Barry in October so it really hasn't been a long time that I've known these women but it feels like I've known them for years. I'm very close with them and am very confident in all of their skills. Inside and outside of the court they represent the team with excellence. They put their heart into everything they do and pay attention to every detail that makes the team better. I'm super happy to have met these women and been apart of this team. These seniors are very special and we are looking to go very far this post-season." -- Assistant coach Nanda Alves

"These four senior exemplify what Barry women's tennis is all about. They are extremely hard-working, they rise to the challenges, and they bring their best when it counts the most. They've been doing these things since they have gotten here. It's been a great pleasure coaching each one of them as I would consider the past three years to be the best of my career. It's just been great to have these four women who I know I can count on to bring everything they have whether its on the court or in the classroom, always putting the team first." -- Head coach Avi Kigel
