MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers rocked the Molloy Lions 8-1 at Feinbloom Field in the Buccaneer Baseball Challenge on Saturday night.
The win was the Bucs 11th in the last 12 games and their fourth in a row. The Bucs score eight unanswered runs for the win.

- T2 - Jake Saltzman singled to center with one out and stole second base. After moving to third on a ground out, he scored ahead of a base hit by Jame Messina. | Molloy 1, Barry 0
- B3 - Joel Alvarez punched a single through the right side with one out. He moved up to third on a hit-and-run single by Justin Lamazares and scored when Andrew Rapoza sliced a single to right. | Barry 1, Molloy 1
- B5 - The Bucs broke open the game in the fifth inning. Alvarez led off with a bad-hop single past third and JC Garcia followed with another ground ball to the left side that third baseman Jake MacCarthy booted for an error. Lamazares doubled past a diving right fielder, driving in Alvarez and Rapoza walked to load the bases. After Garcia scored on a ground out, Reuben Pino blasted a three-run homer off the scoreboard in left to make it 6-1. | Barry 6, Molly 1
- B7 - Chris Cabrera had a single to right with one out and Steven Torres came on to run for him. Pino stayed hot with a single up the middle and Deyvid Silva singled to right to load the bases. Torres scored on a ground ball by Ariel Diaz. | Barry 7, Molloy 1
- B8 - Pinch hitter Paul Salata crushed a mammoth homer to right center to lead off the eighth inning. | Barry 8, Molloy 1
NOTEWORTHY:
- Pablo Arevalo (4-1) picked up his second win in relief this week. He scattered three hits and three walks in 5.2 scoreless innings, striking out three.
- Billy Wildeman (0-2) was tagged with the loss for the Lions. In three innings, he allowed five runs (four earned) on four hits and a walk.
- The ninth slot in the order came up big for the Bucs. Alvarez went 3-for-3 with a double and two runs scored and Salata came in to knock his homer in that slot.
- Pino was 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBI. Lamazares and Rapoza also had two hits each.
- Saltzman led the Lions with two hits and scored their lone run.
ON THE HORIZON:
The Bucs take Sunday off, but come back on Monday, Mar. 11 to host American International at 6:00 pm.
