MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers posted their fifth win over a ranked opponent with a 12-9 win over #21 Wilmington (Del.) at Feinbloom Field on Tuesday night.

- B5 - The Bucs exploded for six runs in the fifth. Lamazares had his second double of the game and advanced to third on interference by Wildcat shortstop Darren Donastorg. Cabrera again came up with the RBI single, poking a ball into left field. After a walk to Pino, Deyvid Silva delivered Cabrera with a single to left center. Diaz drew a walk to load the bases. With the bases juiced, Arrison Perez shot a ball to straight away center field, over the head of Kurych, knocking in all three runs. Donastorg threw the ball away as Perez was in a pickle between second a third and the Bucs' third baseman scampered home. | Barry 8, Wilmington 2
- T6 - The Wildcats would not go down easy, however. The cut the lead to two, 8-6, in the top of the sixth. Eddie Nevins and Ran drew walks to lead off the inning. Luke Johnson singled to load the bases. Frank Nigro made it 8-4 with a single to left center and Donastorg followed with a knock to left field to cut the lead to two, 8-6. | Barry 8, Wilmington 6
- T7 - Small led off the seventh with a base hit up the middle. After a fly out, Ryan drew a base on balls. Both runners advanced on a passed ball and scored ahead of a single by Johnson. The Bucs made a couple of errors to load the bases and Matt Stepnoski drew a walk to force in Johnson with the go-ahead run. | Wilmington 9, Barry 8
- B7 - The Bucs recaptured the lead in the bottom of the frame. Silva led off with a single and Richie Sobalvarro drew walk. After a wild pitch by Wildcat pitcher Zach Ferderick, Diaz hit a ground ball that scored Silva from third. Diaz reached when Donastorg booted the play. Pinch hitter Freddie Matos hit a dribbler up the right field line and first baseman Small tried unsuccessfully to get Sobalvarro at the plate, with what proved to be the winning run. Diaz scored on a balk by Frederick and pinch runner Branden Abreu scored when Stepnoski dropped Andrew Rapoza's fly ball in right. | Barry 12, Wilmington 9
NOTEWORTHY:
- Pablo Arevalo (3-1) worked the final 2.2 innings to get the win. He allowed an unearned run on one hit and two walks and struck out four.
- Frederick (0-1) was tagged with the loss for the Wildcats. He allowed four runs (two earned) on two hits and a walk in 2.0 innings.
- Cabrera was 3-for-5 with two RBI for the Bucs.
- Laazares, Pino, Silva and Diaz all had two hits for the Bucs and scored twice. Perez drove in three.
- Donastorg went 3-for-4 with two RBI for the Wildcats, but also made three errors of their six errors. Johnson and Nigro each had two hits and drove in two runs.
- Barry now has a win over then #18 ranked Nova Southeastern, three wins over then 13th-ranked Florida Southern to go along with the win over the Wildcats.
