MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers clinched the eighth seed in the 2019 Sunshine State Conference women's basketball tournament and will travel on Wednesday, Mar. 6 to face top-seeded Florida Southern in Jenkins Fieldhouse at 5:30 pm.

The Bucs are the eighth seed in the tournament after finishing the season 10-18 overall and 7-13 in the conference. The Bucs swept Saint Leo and earned single wins over Florida Tech, Palm Beach Atlantic, seventh seed Rollins, sixth seed Lynn and third seed Eckerd.
Nichel Tampa leads the team with 14.9 points, 3.9 assists, 3.0 steals and is second on the team with 4.9 rebounds. Ida Andersson leads at 6.9 rebounds and is second at 13.8 points and 1.8 steals. She set a Barry single season record 77 made three-pointers this season, ranking second in the conference.
The Moccasins (25-3, 18-2 SSC) won the regular season title for the second straight year and conference-best 14th time overall. Their two losses came at fifth-seed Embry-Riddle and at home to last place Palm Beach Atlantic.
Camille Giardina leads the Mocs and the conference at 19.1 points per game. She chips in 3.9 rebounds and 2/0 assists. Anja Fuchs-Robetin is third in the conference at 17.7 points per game and leads the team at 6.4 rebounds per game.
