"This is such a great group of guys. Everyone has great character and is fun to be around. I am really glad I made the decision to come here," Hobbs said. -- Senior Guard Isaiah Hobbs
"We made the plays offensively down the stretch that we've lacked at other times [this season]," Bucs head coach Butch Estes said. SUMMARY:
- The Bucs were down eight headed into the locker room after the first 20 minutes of the game. Barry shot 34 percent and committed 11 turnovers, being held without a scorer in double-figures. | SLU 37, Barry 29.
- The second half was a different story with three Bucs scoring 10+ points in the second half alone. Mortensen's four-point play at 9:46 gave the Bucs the needed energy to get back in the game and really start to get their offense going for the remainder of the game. The Danish forward wasn't only relying on his three-point shooting, but being aggressive to the basketball and knocking down jumpers from both elbows. David Moya's sharp-shooting beyond-the-arc bailed Barry out of a few possessions deep into the shot clock, but none bigger than his go-ahead three with :17 seconds remaining in the game to make the score 74-71. | Barry 74, SLU 73
NOTEWORTHY:
- On senior night, the three Barry seniors, Hobbs, Mortensen and Marko Tomic were recognized for their contributions to the program. Also recognized, was senior team manager Cedrick Joseph who has been with the team since his freshman year in 2015.
- Over the course of the last eight minutes of the game, Saint Leo's Rusty Moorer scored 13 straight points for Lions. He finished with 28 points on 12-22 shooting from the field.
