SUMMARY:
Game One

  • B5 - Both pitchers were cruising through the first four innings. The Bucs' starting pitcher Andrea Johnson had a no-hitter going until the fifth inning. Barry broke the scoreless tie when Karla Santiago's bunt single drove in Savannah Starling. A second consecutive hit by Lynsey Duncan drove in another Buccaneer run, but Barry left runners stranded on second and third with one out to potentially go up big. | Barry 2, Rollins 0
  • T6 - Rollins would answer right back and tie the game on a pair of doubles off Johnson. | Barry 2, Rollins 2
  • T7 - The Tars then used their power hitters to put the game away with another RBI double and two-run home run. | Rollins 5, Barry 2

SUMMARY:
Game Two

  • B4 - The Bucs jumped on the Tars first again in game two, this time on a Jordyn Petty RBI double that scored Taylor Randazzo and Andrea Johnson. | Barry 2, Rollins 0
  • B5 - The Bucs added four in the fifth after a Savannah Starling base hit scored Duncan and a muffed throw by a Tars defender plated two more runs for the Bucs. Then Santiago singled up the middle to pick up another insurance run for the Buccaneers. |  Barry 6, Rollins 0

NOTEWORTHY:

  • In game two, Gabby Valle pitched a gem. The freshman recorded her first complete game shutout for the Bucs only allowing three hits on 72 pitches.
  • Duncan has recorded a hit in the last 8-of-20 games for the Bucs.
  • Despite Rawls' home run being her only hit of the day, the junior showed great patience at the plate forcing Hornet pitchers to go deep into the count. Rawls drew two base-on-balls.

ON THE HORIZON:
